“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” — Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth

”My art strives to reconnect the viewer to a space in which the sensual and the immaterial world resonate again, suggesting a context where the self is not the unbalanced center of existence. In the tradition of artists like Chardin and Morandi, my work affirms and celebrates the common, the overlooked and the nearly-not. My goal is to mirror the complexities of the world as much as to reflect its verisimilitude and sonority, to illuminate its visual sensualness as much as its subtlety.

Ultimately, I wish viewers to walk away from my art awakened, alive.”
